  5. The boys majors team pulled out a last inning 5-4 win over Lincon last Saturday as Ian Campbell stole home for the winning run, Tom Shahan picked up the win in relief of Campbell who both pitched well in the game. Lincoln had 2 fine pitchers going and it was close the whole game. Tommie McKeon drove in a big run for the Pirates!!! We play in New Haven on Wednesday night. Don.

  6. The Pirates played a near perfect game today beating New Haven 17-0 Ian Campbell pitched the first 3 innings followed by Cory Emmons who struck out all three batters he faced in the fourth, and Tommy McKean finish the game with a strong final inning. Alexis Weightman had a bases clearing double, and Cody Driscoll hit a long triple which in his words “would have been close to going over the fence if we were in Starksboro”.The entire team had a great day. Don

  7. The Pirates moved to 3 wins 0 loss last night with a 10-3 win over the Bristol Reds. Tom Shahan pitched 4 strong innings followed by the return of Boomer who pitched a strong inning of relief. Ethan White made a great catch in deep center field with runners on to help the defence. The hitters showed good eyes at the plate and walked a number of times. The next game is Wed. at home against the Bristol Red Sox. Go Pirates. Don

  8. The Pirates continued to win games this past wk. as they beat the Bristol Red Sox 10-9 behind a solid pitching performance by Cory Emmons. On Friday the team was involved in another close game with Lincoln as “Boomer” pitched 5 solid innings and Tom Shahan closed out the 8-2 win. the offense was led by Alex McCormick with 2 doubles, and back to back homers from Shahan and Ian Campbell. The team is now 5-0 with a wk off to practice. Thanks, Don.

The Pirates have now run the unbeaten steak to 8 games and got back into things with a good game with New Haven, a close game with the Bristol Reds and a great effort by all in a fun win against the Bristol Red Sox. The win against the Red Sox ran our record to 8-0 and clintched home field advatage for the upcoming playoffs. 10. The Pirates finished the regular season on Sunday by beating New Haven 17-8 with strong play from the whole team they broke open a close game in the last couple of innings for the win. Earlier in the wk. the Pirates beat Lincoln 5-1 in another close game with them as we used good base running and a good hitting night from Alex M. to pull it out. Our regular season finished at 10 wins 0 loss. We begin the play offs this Thursday at home against the Reds. Come on out and support the Pirates. Don.

  11. The Pirates kicked off play off action last wk. with a first round win over the Bristol Reds 8-1! The team followed that effort with a 6-1 win over lincoln tonight in the semi final round. Alex Boomhower was the pitching star pitching the complete game win, the offense was just good enough to score some runs off of a solid pitching performance by Lincoln pitcher Dylan Wynack. The championship game will be held Wed. night at Cota field 6:00pm please come enjoy the game and support the boys as they look to go 13-0 and a spot in the Bristol 4th of July parade. Don

  12. 13-0, look for the new 2007 Mt. Abe Little League champions in the Bristol 4th of July parade !!!! Tonight the Pirates completed an undefeated season by beating the Bristol Red Sox 6-1. Bristol pitcher Ernie Brouillard kept the game close with some fine pitching only to be faced up against Tom Shahan who pitched a one hitter striking out 12 and going the distance. Some fine defensive plays were made by Tom McKean and Cody Driscoll, and the Pirates strung together enough hits and walks to score the runs needed. Thanks to all the fans who turned out as the crowd was huge tonight. Thanks to all the people who helped make this season one to remember for the boys, the parents for sticking it out through all the rain and delays, thanks to Tom Estey, Pete Bissonette, Kevin Camara, Paul Lowe, Mark Driscoll, and Chris Fanning for doing the most thankless job of umpiring for us this season. And thanks to the players for making this a season they will always remember. Don
