Hi – I’m wondering whether the soccer program offers soccer for little guys – 3 and 4 year olds, specifically.
Thanks,
Miranda

Our first soccer snake table was a big success on Thursday night!!
Thank you for all the donated baked goods. We will be setting up
again on Monday night, Oct. 2 and Wednesday night, Oct. 4 for the 5/6
grade teams. We are in need of baked goods for these nights. If you help can help out you can drop your baked goods off at the Starksboro
Store anytime on the day of the game or bring them to the game.
We will also be setting up on Saturday October 7 for the morning
games and need goods for then as well. Please help out if you can!
Thursday’s snack table was such a big hit we ran out of hot dogs!
And we made about $200 that will be put to good use!
Thanks for your help!

As for the above blog, it should say snack table, not snake table!!
And it also says that you can drop off your baked goods at the
Starksboro Store or bring them to the game.

The 5-6 boys had a super day at the Charlotte Jamboree 2 wins 0 loss 1 tie!! The boys played great in all 3 games and tied a tough Middlebury team 1-1. They are really improving every time out. We are home on Monday at 5:00 against New Haven hope to see you all there. Don

We have a u-12 boys team and a u-14 boys team but they are full this year. However if anyone is interested in coaching we have had anumber of kids ask. We just dont have enough coaches. It is also not associated or funded through the Starksboro Sports Program. Any coaches out there wanting to put some time in ? I could hook you up with players from Starksboro and the other area towns. Don

Please try and continue supporting the foods sales at select home games !!
Julie, Carol, Sarah, and Tina are doing a great job with this and it has proven to be a great fund raiser for the program. So have a dog and a pop at the next game. Don

We will still be having the end of the season soccer picnic at Cota Field, rain or shine. We know it will be raw today, but there is not enough room in the Robinson Gym otherwise. We hope you will join us at 5:00!

I would like to let the 5/6 boys team and parents know how proud I am of the team. We started out this season with a bunch of boys who had not played much soccer together and we improved with every game. We finished the season with 12 wins 3 losses and 3 ties!! The most impressive thing was all the comments I heard from the other towns we played about the way our kids show respect, sportsmanship, and play so hard all the time. I have no doubt that this is a result of the make up of our towns people, parents, and teachers. Coaching the 5/6 team over the past 3 years has made for many great memories of these great boys. Thanks for letting me be a part of it!!! Don McCormick.

There will not be a game tonight (Wed. Sept 19) for the 1/2 teams, but there will be practice at the normal time. The first game will be Sat. at 9:00 am at Cota field.

The Starksboro 3/4 team had a very nice opening set of games against Huntington winning all of the mini games. The team played well above the coaches expectations, showing good ball handling skill and stringing together several nice passing runs. The kids who played goalie also did a great job. Next game is in Lincoln at 5:00 on Monday. Please try to be at the field by 4:45. Thanks. Don,Andy,John.

The 3/4 team gave a good effort against the Bristol 4th grade team at Cota field on Wednesday night. The team is moving the ball well and needs a little more practice on defense but is impressing the coaches everytime out.

Thanks to all who helped and attended Jamfest this past wk. end. We again showed what type of people live in our town by the showing of workers we had helping set up, food table, shoe sales, and clean up !I think this year was the largest turn out for help we have had in the seven years of doing this. Thank you all !!
Starksboro Sports Program.

Grade 1/2 teams headed to the Charlotte Jamboree should arrive at 8:30 am and meet behind the school. Again try to wear a red shirt. It looks like rain so bring a raincoat, a change of clothes or something warm. If you need to go into the school you will need to bring a change of shoes, there are no cleats allowed in the school!! We will play as two teams and the format will be 5 vs 5 with no goalie. The schedule is : Both teams play at 9:00am until 9:35 am; Then both teams play at 9:45am until 10:20am. Then both teams get a break and one team plays its last game at 11:15am until 11:50 and the other team plays its last game from 12:00 noon until 12:35 pm. Once again fun and sportsmanship are stressed and we will plan on being flexible. Thanks to the kids who came to practice on Thursday I’m looking forward to seeing our improved passing in a game!! We will see you in Charlotte!!

I also forgot to include that you can download and print the whole schedule and packet for the Charlotte Jamboree by going to Yahoo and signing in as starksborosportsprogram@yahoo.com and use the password jamfest. Then open the email message I sent (Tom & Brenda Mckean) and open the attachments.
